Of Dubstep and DJs

The day after Thanksgiving, I attended a concert featuring headliner Breathe Carolina, as well as two supporting acts I had never before heard of. One in particular, Big Chocolate, was especially intriguing. Introducing himself as "an American music producer," he clicked a button on his Mac and proceeded to head-bang for the entire set. Change and the Liberal Arts

It may be that the single most over-hyped word in our world is "change." But change is, in fact, ubiquitous. Perhaps the biggest change in our world is the great East-West "shift" – the rise to prominence of what are often called the "emerging," or developing, nations and the concomitant decline of many of the so-called developed nations. Men’s Hockey Struggles Despite Promising Start

The new year has not been kind to the Colgate men's hockey team. In December, Colgate went undefeated with wins against St. Lawrence (the first victory over the Saints since 2008), Clarkson and Canisius. The team also tied No. 5 Merrimack. That success in the first half of the season, which had them sit ting at 12-4-2 entering 2012, saw them rise to be among the nation's best ten teams.

Hollywood on the Hill: The Most Anticipated Films of 2012

While 2011 certainly had some shining moments like the Cannes film festival's darling The Artist, it was overall a disappointing year for Hollywood and film lovers. However, 2012 looks to be one of the greatest years in film history, as a slew of blockbusters, art house pictures and raunchy comedies are coming to the screen.

Women’s Basketball Pulls Through After Losing Streak

While many students were relaxing at home for four leisurely weeks, the women's basketball team was doing quite the opposite. With eight games over the holiday break, the ladies were kept busy with a grueling schedule. They started the series of games with a win against NJIT. Feeling strong after the game, they headed into a couple of disappointing losses before an amazing contest against Bucknell.
